First of all, since I missed making an entry on Friday, let me congratulate the winner of the CMT Camp Nashville auditions, Fredericksburg's own Josh Knight. Josh had some stiff competition, but he came out on top, racking up 18% of the votes, with Tanya Madison close behind him. Josh is going to Nashville. This could be a huge break for him. We'll keep tabs on how he's doing and you'll be able to follow his progress as well on this web site. Also, he'll be joining me in the studio one morning this week.
More In The Morning is pleased to announce we have a new sponsor, Francis Nash (no relation to Kristin) of Nash Roofing. Our CMT auditions were held live on the air last Thursday at the WAWA on Route 610 in Garrisonville. Right next door to that WAWA is Rosner Toyota, and I will be out there broadcasting live this Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3. Stop by and say, "Hi", and have some fun with us.
Here's amazing story: Reuters is reporting that a 13-year boy has been arrested for bank robbery in Peoria, Illinois. The boy was charged with felony armed robbery, accused of threatening a bank teller with a gun and demanding cash. Authorities are deciding whether to try him as an adult or not. If they do, he could face up to 30 years in prison. On the plus side, it's nice to hear about a teenager who is not sitting around, addicted to video games. He's actually out there doing something. This kid probably just threw his whole life away. What he needs to learn, is that these days, you can steal from a bank the legitimate way. Become a bank executive, make a lot of bad loans, and then when the loans go sour, get the government to hand over billions of dollars in free money to you.
Finally, good news from Iran: An Iranian scientist has cloned a goat. The female goat named Hana, was born last Wednesday in Central Iran, according to Dr. Mohammed Hossein Nasr e Isfahani (this guy's name looks like an eye chart). Congratulations to the doctor, and at least now he has something to do on Saturday nights.
